Hexagon, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, employs approximately 24,500 people in 50 countries worldwide. As a global leader in precision measurement, positioning, and autonomous solutions, Hexagon provides reliable support for its customers in research, development, operations, and innovation, helping industries such as aerospace and defense, automotive, construction, general manufacturing, and mining improve productivity, product quality, safety, and sustainability.

Founded in 1992, Hexagon's origins can be traced back to several measurement and industrial technology companies in the early 20th century. However, the true Hexagon Group began in 1992 with the acquisition of CimCore, a renowned Swedish metrology company, and subsequently integrated and developed from there. In 2000, the company officially entered the field of precision metrology by acquiring Brown & Sharpe , a global leader in coordinate measuring machines (CMMs). Following this, Hexagon embarked on a global acquisition strategy, successively acquiring key companies such as Leica Geosystems, ERDAS (remote sensing software), and Intergraph (a giant in geospatial and industrial design software), rapidly expanding its technological footprint in geospatial information, industrial manufacturing, and infrastructure.

In the late 2000s, Hexagon established its "Digital Reality" strategy, dedicated to transforming data from the physical world into intelligent, actionable information. The company's business is now divided into two core segments: geospatial information (such as surveying, remote sensing, and smart cities) and intelligent manufacturing (such as metrology equipment, CAD/CAM software, and production quality control). Hexagon drives Industry 4.0 and sustainable development with its core technologies of "sensors + software + automation." As of the 2020s, Hexagon had over 24,000 employees in more than 50 countries and was a major publicly traded company on the Nasdaq Stockholm Stock Exchange. Through continuous innovation and strategic acquisitions, Hexagon has become a bridge connecting the real and digital worlds, playing a key role in global digital transformation.
